FAQs

What is GDPR and why is it important for my business?
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a set of rules adopted by the European Union to protect the personal data of EU citizens. It’s important for your business because failure to comply with GDPR can result in significant fines and damage your organization’s reputation.
The answer is no. Simply publishing a privacy policy and informing users about it does not mean that GDPR has been implemented. Compliance is a complex process that involves analyzing the personal data you process, establishing internal procedures, preparing specific documentation, in other words, ensuring alignment with all the obligations set by the regulation.
The designation of a Data Protection Officer (DPO) is required when an organization processes personal data on a large scale or handles sensitive data such as health information, political or religious orientation, or when it systematically monitors individuals (e.g., in banking or telecom sectors).
Informed consent means that the data subject must be clearly informed about the purposes for which their data is collected and processed, and they must voluntarily agree to it. The consent must be explicit and specific.
Sensitive data is that personal data that reveal information about race, ethnicity, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, health data, or data about a person’s sex life. The processing of these data is subject to stricter rules.
